Double Refraction

Double Refraction was a work that explored the effects of social technology through a unique blending of music and choreography. The work was made in collaboration with Genene Wallis-McGrath, who choreographed and performed the work. I used the wearable music technology/instruments MiMu Gloves and Instrument of Things’ SOMI-1 Bands to create a work where the performer (a keyboardist) and a dancer/choreographer were totally dependent on each other to create sound.

Double Refraction fue una obra que exploró los efectos de la tecnología social a través de una mezcla singular de música y coreografía. La obra se realizó en colaboración con Genene Wallis-McGrath, quien la coreografió e interpretó. Utilicé los instrumentos de tecnología musical vestible MiMu Gloves y las SOMI-1 Bands de Instrument of Things para crear una obra en la que la intérprete (una tecladista) y una bailarina/coreógrafa dependían por completo una de la otra para producir el sonido.
